Named in honor of the great Czechoslovak long-distance runner, Emil Zátopek (b. 1922). In a twelve-year career he set eighteen world records and won five Olympic medals: silver in 1948 and gold in 1952 at 5000 m, gold in 1948 and 1952 at 10 000 m and gold in the 1952 marathon. The name also honors his wife Dana (b. 1922), who won Olympic gold for the javelin in 1952. Name suggested by G. V. Williams, who made the identifications involving this object.
