Hiram Perkins (1833–1924) was a professor of mathematics and astronomy at the Ohio Wesleyan University from 1857 to 1907. In 1923 he used profits raised through hog farming during the Civil War to fund the construction of Perkins Observatory in Delaware, Ohio. (M 43043) _ _.
