Geoffrey Burbidge (b. 1925) is a British-born astrophysicist who, with E. M. Burbidge, W. A. Fowler and F. Hoyle, showed in 1957 how most elements have been produced in nuclear reactions in stars. A vigorous supporter of steady state cosmological models, he has been at University of California at San Diego since 1962.
