Amiens, the capital of Picardy, is famous for its cathedral, the tallest of the Gothic churches in France. Notable for its beautiful sculptures on the principal façade, it has been named the “Parthenon of Gothic architecture”. The city is also worth a visit for its complex of gardens along the Somme river.
