Osamu Ohshima (1954– ) is a high school teacher and one of Japan’s leading observers of variable stars. He was a staff member at Bisei {see planet  (17286)} Astronomical Observatory and played an important role in the founding of the observatory, using his talent in mechanical and computer technology.
