The KSO-ARI Minor Planet Surveys were conducted by F. Börngen {see planet  (3859)} (Karl-Schwarzschild-Observatorium, Tautenburg) and L. D. Schmadel {see planet  (2234)} (Astronomisches Rechen-Institut, Heidelberg) with the Tautenburg Schmidt Telescope between 1990 and 1993. The surveys resulted in 501 discoveries of minor planets.
