A skilled mechanical craftsman, Paul Allen Horbatt (1946– ) has contributed greatly to the development of the instrumentation at Goodricke-Pigott Observatory, near Tucson, where this minor planet was discovered. His familiarity with detector enclosures and vacuum seals greatly speeded the fabrication of the instruments. (M 42366) _ _.
