O-Lay’-tha is the old Shawnee word for “Beautiful”. The township of Olathe, Kansas, was established in 1857 and later became a stop along the Santa Fe Trail. It is the site of the Sunflower {see planet  (19019)} Observatory. (M 41943) _ _.
