Günter Seeber (b. 1941) is a famous geodesist. Professor of geodetic astronomy and satellite geodesy at the University of Hannover, Seeber is a leading GPS expert and developer of a transportable zenith camera. The name was suggested by the first discoverer on the occasion of Seeber's retirement.
