Named in honor of Klaus Bahner {1921– }, staff member of the Heidelberg-Königstuhl Observatory who has made outstanding contributions to the design of large telescopes. The design of the 1.2-m, 2.2-m and 3.5-m large telescopes of the Max-Planck-Institut für Astronomie is mainly due to his efforts. (M 6649) _ _.
