Jack McDevitt (b. 1935) is an American science fiction author. His novels cover many of the topics of traditional science fiction including interstellar colonization and wars, relations with aliens, the future of humanity, and time travel. He has been honored by his peers with the Nebula and John W. Campbell awards.
