Karl Heidlas (b. 1932) is a German chemist and amateur astronomer, dedicated to popularizing astronomy and sciences. For more than 20 years he was head of the public observatory in Aachen, where he was responsible for the reconstruction and preservation of one of Germany's oldest public astronomical observatories.
