Named in memory of June C. Patterson (1923–1988) of Sierra Vista, Arizona. She and her husband David were well-known amateur astronomers. Through their volunteer work with astronomy clubs and the Flandrau Planetarium in Tucson, the Patterson’s inspired many young people to pursue interests in astronomy. (M 13178) _ _.
