Named for the sister of Adrastus, king of Argos, and wife of Amphiaraus who foretold the disastrous end of the expedition of the Seven against Thebes. Eriphyle caused her husband to accompany the expedition and was killed by her son Alcmaeon on the news of his father’s death. (H 50) _ _.
