Leslie Green (b. 1931) has been treasurer of the Junior Astronomical Society (now the Society for Popular Astronomy) continuously for 40 years, beginning in 1967. His work has enabled the society to continue its aim of bringing astronomy to the British public at an affordable price. The name was suggested by R. A. Scagell.
