Robert E. Frazer (1918– ), longtime friend and colleague of the discoverer, studied optics at the University of Rochester. He has participated in and supported many space-related programs at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, ranging from the construction of early deep space antennas to devising a means of replicating optical mirrors.
