Named in honor of Janis L. Konke, space advocate and good friend of the discoverer. Born in Wisconsin and educated in Minnesota and Illinois, she has pursued a career in psychology, studying human capabilities and desires. Inspired by a friend and the starry skies of Palomar Mountain, she developed an interest in space travel and exploration, believing that humankind’s greatest adventure is in the heavens.
