Named in honor of Marshall Eubanks of the U.S. Naval Observatory. His contributions to astrometry and geodesy, through his development and imaginative use of the navy radio interferometry network and through his astute analyses of data relating to the earth’s rotation and polar motion, have resulted in new insights on the causes of those complex phenomena.
