Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) was a French composer who revolutionized French music by using daring harmonic progressions and modulations. A set of highly original nocturnes, barcaroles and impromptus was composed after the example of Chopin {see planet  (3784)}. His Ballade (1881) for piano is very popular. (M 47164) _ _.
