Wittelsbach is a castle ruin near Aichach in Bavaria. It is the ancestral seat of the German dynasty of the Wittelsbacher, which ruled Bavaria for more than 800 years. The dynasty was divided into the Bavarian branch and the Palatine (main) branch, which was the source of Bavarian kings from 1908 to 1918.
