Leif Erland Andersson (1943–1979) observed that most satellites of the outer planets rotate synchronously about their parent planets, helped determine Pluto’ pole position and albedo map, and determined that Pluto and its satellite Charon would display mutual transits and eclipses. He also made a catalogue of lunar craters. (M 38198) _ _.
