This minor planet, originally intended to be (1125) China, was accidentally usurped from that number and name by 1957 UN1, discovered by Y. C. Chang {see planet (2051)} at the Purple Mountain Observatory. It seems therefore particularly appropriate that 1928 UF should receive the Chinese form of the name of China. The minor planet is a 2:1 Jupiter librator. (M 13179)
