The German physician Robert Koch (1843–1910) is the chief founder of the methodology of modern bacteriology. In 1876, he showed that the anthrax bacillus causes an infectious disease. He discovered the tuberculosis and cholera bacilli and studied malaria and sleeping sickness. He won the Nobel prize for medicine in 1905. (M 38200) _ _.
