Marc Allen (b. 1951) is a stellar and solar astronomer who has directed the Space Studies Board of the U.S. National Research Council (1991-1999) and is currently Assistant Associate Administrator for Strategic and International Planning at NASA. The name was suggested by L. A. McFadden, L. J. Lanzerotti and C. R. Canizares.
