Etienne Vermeersch (b. 1934) is a Belgian philosopher and professor. His interest embraces philosophy of science, environmental philosophy and ethics. A former vice-rector of the Ghent University, he is known for his books, The River of Herakleitos, (2008) and The Panda's Eyes (1988).
