Geologist John Barlow Reid (b. 1940), a teacher for 30 years at Hampshire College, Massachusetts, has studied the earth and moon using isotopic methods. He also developed archeological evidence for slavery migration and the life and health of past populations. The name was suggested by L. A. McFadden and R. Bedell.
