Kornél Lánczos (1893-1974) was a Hungarian physicist and mathematician who had a profound impact on the foundations of twentieth-century science. His works cover a vast array of disciplines, including general relativity, quantum mechanics, scientific computation, applied mathematics and numerical analysis.
