Fabrizio Spaziani (1963-2012) was an Italian anaesthetist who also chaired the national Mountain and Cave Rescue Commission. He disappeared on 2012 August 22 along with the entire crew of a mountain rescue mission, all of whom were posthumously awarded the Italian gold medal for civil merit.
