Named in honor of Mitrofan Stepanovich Zverev {1903–1991}, specialist in fundamental astrometry, initiator of the international program to compile the Catalogue of Faint Stars (KSZ). This Pulkovo astrometrist organized expeditions in the 1960s for the observation of stars in the southern hemisphere. He is also popular as a fine pianist. (M 7783) _ _.
