Frauenstein is a small city on the crest of the Erzgebirge Mountains in Saxony, Germany. It was first mentioned in 1218 and is well-known for its ruined castle. Fraunstein is the birthplace of the discoverer and of the legendary organ builder Gottfried Silbermann.
