Named in honor of David W. Dunham, American astronomer and organizer of the International Occultation Timing Association. Dunham has played a cardinal role in collecting and analyzing occultation observations, particularly those involving asteroids and grazing occultations by the Moon. In addition, he has stimulated many observers to make accurate and useful timings of occultation phenomena. (M 10847) _ _.
