Named for the 81st emperor of Japan, Antoku (1178–1185), son of Kenreimonin {see planet  (5242)}. He reigned from 1180 to 1185, and when the Heike was destroyed at Dannoura, he was drowned in Niinoama’s {see planet  (4959)} arms. (M 30798) _ _.
