Rodrigo Dias Tarsia (b. 1946), a Brazilian astrophysicist and retired professor at the Federal University in Belo Horizonte, has been the director of the Serra da Piedade Observatory, where the discoverer has regularly performed photometric observations. Tarsia plays the baroque flute very well.
