Menkaure (c. 2530 B.C.), the son of Chephren {see planet  (4412)}, reigned for 18 years and built the third and smallest of the three pyramids at Giza {see planet  (5249)}. His mortuary temple was finished by his successor Shepseskaf and contained some of the finest sculptures of the pyramid age. (M 26929) _ _.
