Michael Rowan-Robinson (b. 1942), of Imperial College, London, led the team evaluating the completeness and reliability of the IRAS deep-sky infrared survey. His work has been mainly extragalactic, but he used the survey to set a strict limit on the existence of undiscovered Jupiter-like planets beyond the orbit of Neptune.
