Named for Tokiko (?–1185), wife of (4375) Kiyomori. She is called Niinoama because she took the rank of secondary-nii after Kiyomori’s death. After the battle of Dannoura, she drowned herself holding the 7-year-old Emperor Antoku {see planet  (3686)} in her arms. (M 21132) _ _.
