Named for the insula Venusia, or Hveen, island in the Sound between Denmark and Sweden, provided by King Frederick II of Denmark in 1576 to Tycho Brahe {see planet  (1677)} for his observatories Uraniborg and Stjerneborg. (H 54; AN 166, 319 (1904)) _ _.
