Named for the daughter of Lycurgus, king of Thrace. She fell in love with Demophon, son of Theseus, who stopped in Thrace on his return from the Trojan War. He married her and became king. Shortly thereafter, Demophon went to Athens, and when he failed to return after one month, Phyllis threw herself into the sea. (Z 210) _ _.
