Ivo Žídek (1926-2003) was outstanding Czech tenor singer. He spent 40 years as a soloist of the National Theatre in Prague and was also a guest singer in Vienna, Berlin and Stuttgart. He was the most famous representative of the role of Jeník in Smetana's opera The Bartered Bride.
