The small town of Golovyno is noted for a labradorite mine, one of the greatest in Ukraine and Europe. Stone from it has decorated the metros of Moscow, Tbilisi, Baku and St. Petersburg. It was used in the building of the House of Parliament of Ukraine and for monuments in many countries.
